All brass products supplied by A. Perry && Co. (Hinges) Ltd, are of the very best quality and have been treated with a hard wearing lacquered finish. It is IMPERATIVE that under no circumstances whatsoever, should any of these products be treated with a metal polish or any form of abrasive cleaner, otherwise the lacquer coating will become damaged, resulting in marking and early discolouration.

Products used INTERNALLY merely require regular dusting with a soft cloth, supplemented by occasional wiping with a damp cloth having been immersed in warm soapy water and then buffed afterwards with a dry soft cloth.

Products used EXTERNALLY should be treated all as above, but it is advisable to apply a thin coating of a good natural wax polish once a week, to keep the finish in a good condition.

After prolonged exposure to the external elements, the lacquered finish may break down due to varying adverse atmospheric conditions, should this occur, any remaining trace of the lacquered finish can be removed by the gentle and careful application of a mild acetone based cleaner, applied strictly in accordance with the manufactures instructions. The brass product will then be in a suitable condition for cleaning and polishing, all as previously described above, but with the added application of a suitable good quality none abrasive metal polish or cleaner.
